"All this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered."

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas, my True Love Gave to Me…

On the eleventh day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Eleven Pipers Piping
Ten Lords a-Leaping
Nine Ladies Dancing
Eight Maids a-Milking
Seven Swans a-swimming
Six Geese a-Laying
Five Golden Rings
Four Calling Birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

As if there wasn’t enough noise, with all the birds and people going around, we’ve got people whose main purpose is making noise. And in case you were missing birds, some of these artists have got you covered.

1. Ameluria

They’re pipers and they’re piping: you can’t really argue with this. Still, I rather hoped we were done with birds…

2. Tony Pilling

Have you had enough of the festive mood already? Have your neighbors being playing Christmas songs since November? Are you my neighbor? Well, this is the variant for you.

3. Hester Durkan

Well, they’re piping and this might make them pipers. Some of them have been piping a little too much, I think. But hey, these guys work their asses off all year in order to deliver Christmas and they deserve to party when it’s over.

4. Reemredroon

Eva from Remredroon has mugs for the 12 days of Christmas and they are all beautiful, but the pipers is the one that made me fall in love with them.

I’ve decided to continue showing you beautiful stuff (or at least stuff I think it’s beautiful) even after Christmas, but instead of having monographic articles featuring single illustrators I’ll be grouping them with themes. As a theme I’m picking the Twelve Days of Christmas, a British carol I adore. If you never heard it (you’re clearly not Britsh) I suggest you take a look at this incredible performance. We’re almost over: tomorrow is our last day!

Weird Sisters

Well, this was a fairly unusual read for me in this period, I’m more in my sci-fi era, but good things come from good friends who gift you books you wouldn’t have bought: they usually help you discover something cool you didn’t know. What I
