"All this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered."

On the First Day of Christmas, my True Love Gave to Me…

You thought I was done? Of course I wasn’t done. I’ve decided to continue showing you beautiful stuff (or at least stuff I think it’s beautiful) even after Christmas, but instead of having monographic articles featuring single illustrators I’ll be grouping them with themes. As a theme I’m picking the Twelve Days of Christmas, a British carol I adore. If you never heard it (you’re clearly not Britsh) I suggest you take a look at this incredible performance.

So, Merry Christmas everybody and, as the song goes…

On the first day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
A Partridge in a Pear Tree.

Don’t ask. Nobody knows.

So, here’s your top 5 Partridge in Pear Trees you can find these days.

1. Rachel James

An incredibly charming Christmas Card featuring our necessary partridge in the mandatory Pear Tree. From the same artist, you might also want to take a look at Rudolph and his very shiny nose.

2. M Tuzon

Born in Barcelona, based in Leeds, Mario Tuzon of M Tuzon Design brings us this surrealist partridge and I’ll feature him in all the first 5 days because he made all of them up until the golden rings. It’s good to know I’m not the only one who’s crazy. His work is incredible.

3. Jami Moss Wise

In case this wasn’t surreal enough, Jami Moss Wise’s art at MossRoseArt will do the trick. Her partridge is being lurked upon by a Cheshire-like cat.

4. Cardology

In case you want to go 3d, people at Cardology have what it takes and will bring you this amazing pop-up card.

5. Larissa Holland

In case that wasn’t 3d enough, Larissa’s partridge and pear are a best seller of etsy and rightly so.

A New Vision for the Learning Crisis

The end of 2024 brought us no grand educational reckoning, no moment of consensus that we need to reimagine how adults learn. Instead, through 2025, we’ve settled into a peculiarly quiet collective exhaustion with the pandemic’s educational experiments, paired with a creeping anxiety that something
