Dark Reign – The Hood

Ora, confesso che l’intera idea di avere Norman Osborn a capo dell’universo Marvel mi pare un filo balorda, così come non mi pare molto oculata la scelta dei suoi quattro consiglieri della Cabala. Loki in versione drag queen? Emma Frost? Un fuorilegge abbastanza sfigato emerso dal nulla? Solo il dottor Destino sembrava essere all’altezza della situazione, insieme a Namor che non faceva altro se non ritornare al proprio glorioso passato di nemico della superficie (altrimenti noi fan iniziamo a lamentarci che si è imborghesito). Quest’albetto, centrato su Parker Robbins, alias The Hood, si preoccupa di rimettere le cose a posto almeno in parte, riallacciandosi direttamente a Blood from Stones di Vaughan, edito in Italia nell’abominevole formato For Fans Only e già recensito qui. In questo story-arc a fosche tinte ambientato nel sottobosco della malavita supereroistica, viene ulteriormente esplorata la connessione di Parker con il demone Dormammu, acerrimo nemico del dottor Strange. Potrà il gangster mantenere separate la sua vita di mistico super-criminale posseduto dalla sua vita privata che lo vede figlio devoto e padre di famiglia? Nell’universo Marvel (e non solo) queste cose finiscono sempre in vacca: per il povero Robbins non si prevede un finale migliore, mentre allontana da sé tutti coloro che conoscono il suo altro lato. Un albetto leggibile, ben scritto da Jeff Parker e onestamente disegnato da Kyle Hotz. Copertine di Djurdjevic, sempre impronunciabile ma sempre uno spettacolo. The Hood diventa un personaggio tutt’altro che piatto, quando non è scritto da Bendis.
