Arriva finalmente anche in Italia il manga ispirato al celebre videogioco Warcraft, probabilmente il MMORPG di maggior successo di tutti i tempi. Una storia non entusiasmante, ambientata dopo The Frozen Throne e con alcuni personaggi noti, tra cui lo stesso Arthas: un drago blu, Kalec, è inviato dal suo signore alla ricerca del Pozzo del Sole, apparentemente distrutto ma in realtà andato perduto durante le guerre che hanno dilaniato i regni di uomini ed elfi. A lui si uniscono la sua promessa Tyrygosa e l’umana Anveena, tutti di spessore psicologico più o meno pari allo zero, e – al termine del numero – il nano Harkyn Grimstone (che durante questo episodio aveva dato loro la caccia) e il paladino Jorad Mace.
Uno schema piuttosto classico e non appassionante con personaggi-tipo. Il vero punto di forza del manga, oltre all’ambientazione cui molti di noi sono affezionati e che spingerà all’acquisto, sono i disegni. Un tratto fine ed elaborato, un uso raffinatissimo dei retini ed una reinterpretazione intelligente degli scenari e dei personaggi già conosciuti durante il videogioco rendono Dragon Hunt un volume godibilissimo.
