"All this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered."

…io ti amo da impazzire.

Non solo oggi e non perché è oggi, ma anche oggi, come ieri. Anzi, come si dice, forse un po’ di più.

Suzanne Vega in Milan

Yesterday, we went to see Suzanne Vega, one of the greatest artists and musicians of all times whom occupies a special place in my heart next to Tori Amos. It was a packed house at Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi here in Milan, with people belonging to

Isaac Asimov’s Gold (and other stories)

It’s unfortunate that I’m coming to this after the very unsatisfactory collection of “fantasy” stories (Asimov never wrote fantasy: he wrote satire), because this was another disappointment. Messaggio per la signorina che mi ha scritto in privato:

    Sorella, delle tue argomentazioni m’importa sega. Avrai pure i tuoi motivi di fare il giro di tutti i blog per cercare dove si parla di San Valentino e tentare di riportare sulla retta via i consumisti schiavi delle feste comandate, ma permettimi un paio di osservazioni:

    * la tua presunzione che l’unico modo di vivere una festa sia acquistando qualcosa è, appunto, presunzione;

    * il tuo assunto che io voglia passare del tempo con l’Altro perché qualcuno mi ha inculcato che devo farlo è a dir poco risibile;

    * il tuo essere schiava di una festa comandata al punto da permetterle di rovinarti una giornata è decisamente superiore al mio esserne suggestionata a sufficienza da cogliere quest’occasione, come una qualsiasi altra, per essere felice.

    Guarda un po’ qui e vedi in che categoria sei.
