Let’s begin (a.k.a. incipit of… anything)

If you dabble in writing, I’m sure you’ve dealt with the overinflated issue of how to start your piece. We call it ‘incipit’ when it’s fiction. We call it ‘hook’ when it’s… well, any other kind of writing, spanning from business to reporting. Only academics have the luxury not to deal with this issue in their essays, apparently, though it often feels a bit weird when you’re reading a scholar’s paper on incipits and the aforementioned paper has no incipit at all.

Anyway, this month for you people in the beer and vermouth tiers I thought I could deal with the issue and share with you some tools I’ve been using. It’s this month’s post on my Patreon in the “writing tricks” tier.
