Legend of the seeker

Sì, lo so, è in onda da un po’ di tempo – almeno in patria – ma pensavo di avervene già parlato. E invece, a quanto pare, mi sono dimenticata di mettervi in guardia contro questo ennesimo, stucchevole polpettone seriale fantasy statunitense.

Per comprendere a pieno il livello cosmico di questa solenne boiata, bisogna innanzitutto premettere che Legend of the Seeker è la risposta a Merlin. Ovvero la risposta inutile ad una domanda che nessuno aveva fatto.
Ordunque, di che cosa parla questa serie? Beh, il protagonista è un giovane di campagna (does it ring a bell?), Richard Cypher, con una faccia moderatamente da scemo: il suo destino cambia quando la sacerdotessa Kahlan – fugacemente vista in New Amsterdam -, proveniente da una terra vicina, oltrepassa il confine con l’aiuto di un pimpirlino scintillante per cercare l’anziano arcimago Zeddicus Zu’l Zorander, che trova nudo e con una gallina là dove non dovrebbe battere il sole.
Pensate che tutto ciò sia terribile? Non ne avete ancora sentita la metà.
Già.
Perché ciò che Kahlan cerca veramente è il ragazzo che far avverare la profezia e ucciderà il signore del male. E, credetemi, un signore del male tanto improbabile non si è mai visto. Non pago di essere l’elfo meno credibile della storia del cinema, un Craig Parker in vestaglia interpreta Darken Rahl, colui che non deve essere nominato (o con la sola imposizione dei capelli, vi ungerà la camicia).
Tanti, troppi episodi (22) di cui 11 mandati in onda fin’ora. Un’infinita saga in cui non manca davvero nulla, dal signore del male con servi improbabili alla profezia da portare a compimento, dalla fanciulla guerriera alla storia d’amore, dal capitano delle guardie nero al vecchio mago, dallo spadone magico +2 al Grande Mostro Che Con Due Colpi Va Giù, fino al grande colpo di scena in perfetto stile Luke, io sono tuo nonno. Secondo classificato come peggior blue screen degli ultimi dieci anni (subito dopo Le cronache di Narnia), è un prodotto decisamente da evitare. Tratto da un libraccio di Terry Goodkind. Non dite che non vi avevo avvertito.
