#BIMpill – Responsibility Matrix

La redazione della matrice di responsabilità, responsibility matrix, è da sempre uno degli strumenti base per la pianificazione della collaborazione su un progetto BIM.

Viene ripresa nella ISO 19650-2 come strumento che deve essere realizzato, per l’appunto, nella fase di pianificazione.

A responsibility matrix should be generated as part of the information delivery planning process in one or more levels of detail. The axes of a responsibility matrix should identify:
— information management functions; and
— either project or asset information management tasks, or information deliverables as appropriate.
The content of a responsibility matrix should show the appropriate detail relevant to the axes.

Nella definizione della ISO, viene quindi aperta la possibilità di realizzare una matrice che individui le responsabilità relative a vari ambiti:

  • si può trattare di attività, nel qual caso di va verso la struttura di una matrice RACI;
  • oppure si può trattare di deliverables, nel qual caso si va verso la struttura di matrici come la Model Production Delivery Table.

Tra i riferimenti più utili per redigere una matrice, nel contesto europeo si trova sicuramente lo Scottish Future Trust, che fornisce un template all’interno del suo Toolbox e consiglia di impostarlo come una matrice RACI. La matrice viene spesso combinata con altri due strumenti, anch’essi spesso utilizzati in modo intercambiabile: la Model Production Delivery Table e il Master Information Delivery Plan.

Per chiarire le idee, il riferimento da cui consiglio di iniziare è quindi BIMthinkspace, che ci fornisce proprio una matrice sulle attività necessarie per portare avanti la diffusione del BIM.

Matrici più tradizionali in ambito di progetto hanno invece un aspetto e un’impostazione simile a quella proposta dalla Scottish Trust e il loro ambito può essere quello, ad esempio, di identificare la responsabilità per guidare specifici usi del modello.

Celebre è anche l’esempio di BIMtoolbox, che mira invece ad attribuire responsabilità specifiche di authoring su ogni singolo oggetto dei diversi modelli.

Entrando nell’ambito degli strumenti sviluppati da leader dell’industria, consiglio l’esempio messo a disposizione da Ramboll, consultabile qui. La versione originale è stata sviluppata da Graham H. Stewart nel lontano 2014, nella sua veste di direttore regionale UK per il BIM in Ramboll e, nonostante il contenuto diverga da quanto viene inserito oggi in una matrice nel workflow della ISO 19650, rimane un’ottima risorsa dal punto di vista dell’approccio e del metodo.
