"All this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered."

MDW2025 – Day 2

Lexus surprises with a series of collaborative installations where you can share your heartbeat, create a star with your body energy and give birth to a butterfly with a blow of your breath. The installation is part of the Superdesign Show at Superstudio Più, via Tortona 27, at the heart of one of the very first “design districts” back when the fair was in town, and it’s curated by SIX & STUDEO. It’s based on the Japanese concept of aun no kokyo, breathe in harmony.

A-Un” offers visitors an immersive experience that explores the seamless connection between humans and technology, and features a vast space in an ethereal environment, where participants’ heartbeats are synchronized with natural 1/f fluctuations—subtle, rhythmic patterns found in nature—creating a multisensory fusion of light and sound that encapsulates the essence of mutual understanding and synchronized interaction.

In addition, Lexus introduces “Discover Together,” a co-creation project that emphasizes collaborative innovation. This initiative showcases interactive works that reinterpret the “Black Butterfly” car cockpit through the unique perspectives of emerging talents from Bascule Inc. in Japan, Northeastern University in the USA, and Lexus’s own Vision Design Team. Each group brings its distinctive approach to the concept, offering fresh insights into the evolving relationship between humans and mobility:

  • Give birth to a star with your own body’s energy and see it interact with other people’s stars;
  • Record a sound and send it into orbit through your own deployed satellite;
  • Breath life into a butterfly and send it chasing other people’s butterflies on screen.
