March Story

Serie gentile e accattivante, decisamente sottovalutata forse perché parte della categoria fumetto a episodi, non molto amato in Italia. Ed è un peccato, perché March Story è veramente un prodotto delizioso.

La mamma non vi ha mai detto di non toccare oggetti che non conoscete? Beh, aveva ragione, oh se aveva ragione: alcuni oggetti, dai più innocui ai più affascinanti, sono il nido di pericolosi demoni che attendono solo un tocco per sedurre e possedere gli ignari mortali. Maschere, specchi, collane e bastoni. Compito di gente come la piccola March è dare la caccia a questi demoni ed estirparli dai corpi che possiedono, uccidendoli insieme all’ospite, ma cosa accade se il cacciatore custodisce in sé uno degli esseri cui dovrebbe dare la caccia? Concetti presi dalla mitologia giapponese, come quello degli yokai negli oggetti, vengono affiancati con naturalezza ad un’ambientazione nord-europea pseudo-vittoriana e farciti da una spruzzata di cliché (cacciatore posseduto, vecchia guardiana e, immancabile, l’androginia). Ma il risultato in questo caso è fresco e piacevole, ben disegnato, anche se confezionato in un prodotto editoriale stampato con la sega elettrica e rilegato con lo sputo.
Di Kim Hyang-Min e Yiang Kyung-Il, su cui non ho francamente reperito altre notizie: è la loro opera prima?
