Il finale di Fairy Cube, l’ultima fatica della bravissima mangaka Kaori Yuki (autrice del più noto Angel Sanctuary) si rivela purtroppo un prodotto non all’altezza, un ibrido tra l’ampio respiro di Angel Sanctuary e le deliziose storie brevi racchiuse negli speciali e in God Child.

Il complotto per riversare nel mondo materiale un crudele regno delle fate viene sventato da Ian, imprigionato nel corpo di un bambino dopo che il suo gemellospiorituale Tokage si è impossessato del suo corpo originale, con aiuti inaspettati (telefonatissimi, diciamocelo) e una sarabanda dei consueti temi cari all’autrice: il doppio, l’amore contrastato, l’attaccamento ad un mondo e ad una vita dove ci sia la persona amata, lo scambio di corpi e di menti, la possessione, ed un finale in cui i cattivi sono sempre meno di quelli che si pensava.

Riscatta il banale volumetto la bellissima storia breve “Psycho Knocker” in appendice, una cupa fiaba metropolitana in cui uno spirito ha un modo… tutto suo di esaudire i desideri di chi la interpella e toccherà proprio a Tokage, divenuto cacciatore di demoni, salvare una ragazza dal suo destino. Il numero vale l’acquisto solo per la storia in appendice.
